Girls' Life Does playing Claudia ever make you wonder what your life would be like without parents? Lacey Chabert Oh, yeah—a lot. Everyone thinks it would be so cool not to have rules, not to have to do homework, but a lot of the show deals with how much they struggle with it. It would be really sad. Girls' Life Do you have brothers and sisters in real life? Lacey Chabert Two sisters and a brother. They're home in Mississippi. Girls' Life Do you live in a tent, like Claudia? Lacey Chabert I have a room like Claudia does, but I also have an office in my closet. Girls' Life In your closet? Lacey Chabert Yeah, I love to play business. I know that sounds stupid. But I have a phone with like 20 different lines, and I'm good at putting people on hold. In your closet? Girls' Life What kind of business do you play? Lacey Chabert Agent. I'd love to be an agent for actors [someone who gets people auditions and parts]. If I wasn't that, I'd be a makeup artist. I love makeup. Girls' Life Any particular kind? Lacey Chabert Bob Kelly makeup. It's great special effects stuff. When I was in "Les Miserables" on Broadway, I learned how to create my own black eye. I've got good fake blood now, too, and I can make a great bruise. Girls' Life On the show, you play violin. Is that just acting? Lacey Chabert No, that's really me playing. I like the violin a lot. Playing is really challenging and fun. Girls' Life What do you do when you're not being Claudia? Lacey Chabert I love Rollerblading, ice skating, and I do crafts. Girls' Life Are you famous yet? Lacey Chabert Yep. They say, "You're the girl on that show!" Girls' Life They give you a lot of tough issues to deal with. What show has meant the most to you? Lacey Chabert The one where I look for my grandfather. I hire a detective, go to the veterans' office, and search all over for the man I think is him. In the end, it was just a man with the same name. Girls' Life Everyone we know who watches your show cries every episode. Do the writers do this on purpose? Lacey Chabert I swear, I think so! Girls' Life There were rumors that the show could be canceled. What's the latest? Lacey Chabert We're going through the rest of the season. We've got to do well on our new night—Wednesdays at 9 p.m. Girls' Life Who's cuter—Scott Wolf [Bailey] or Matt Fox [Charlie]? Lacey Chabert Gee, they're all so sweet. Girls' Life You can tell us.
